Plant Wall DIY

This wall was BEGGING to be more useful and I needed a place to house my growing plant collection. I started with this watercolor wallpaper from Photowall Sweden as the prettiest backdrop.

I mapped out my design for the shelves using IG stories and then got to work with painters tape to make sure I liked the dimensions.

I found this light fixture on eBay but you can find it on Amazon here.

It’s a plug in sconce so no hardwiring required.

I then secured my brackets to the wall directly into studs. If you can’t find a stud, make sure to use heavy duty anchors like these.

I used pine stair treads as my shelves because I like the finished rounded edges and the width of the board. They make the perfect shelf!

These from Home Depot are what I used.

Once I cut, sanded and sealed them with Tung Oil, I attached them to the shelf brackets.

That’s it! It’s been up for about 8 months and my plants are THRIVING! I’ve been able to propagate more plant babies way more often than before.
