One Room Challenge Week 3: Hallway Lighting

One Room Challenge Week 3 is in the books! I debated on whether to start the stencil this week or to put up the new light fixture but after all the painting I did last week, I didn’t have it in me to do more Just yet. Plus, this gorgeous light fixture came in over the weekend and was just taunting me.

I found Illuminate Vintage on Etsy a few months back while looking for sconces for my bedroom and I fell in love with these unique vintage meets eclectic meets modern light fixtures.

I thought this little Cresson semi flush mount was the perfect touch for this soon to be funky hallway.

I’ve only replaced a couple of light fixtures to date, but it’s really not hard! YouTube is your best friend with this stuff. I used to be terrified to do it but have gotten much more comfortable with it.

  • I turned the breaker off to the hallway.

  • Took down the old fixture.

  • And put this beauty up!

  • Turned the power back on...

  • AND VOILA! Once it was up- I decided to add a ceiling medallion.

Ideally, I would have put this up before the fixture but I didn’t want to go through the whole process again so I cut the medallion in half and put It back together around the base of the fixture. Easy Peasy.
